Be Yourself

answering_the_cry_of_kenya

Richard Roberts has a story to share to you. Often when I go into a grocery store, people will recognize me and ask for prayer. And when they do I don’t say, “Let’s go out in the parking lot.” I’ll stop whatever I’m doing and pray for them right there.

One time I was in the frozen food section with ice cream in one hand and frozen vegetables in the other when a woman came up and asked me to pray for her to be healed. When I put down the frozen food and laid my hands on her head, I thought she going to go through the ceiling because of my cold hands.

She said, “I didn’t know the anointing was so cold!” I said, “No ma’am, that was the frozen food.” Why do I tell you that story? Because it’s real, just like Jesus was real. Sometimes people see Lindsay and Richard Roberts on television and they want to know, “Are they real?” I believe Jesus wants all of us to be real. We all have our faults and idiosyncrasies, but God created us to be unique individuals.

There’s no one else like you on earth. So if you’ve been putting yourself down, stop it. Stop thinking you can’t be used by God. Be yourself! When God leads you to touch someone with His healing power, don’t worry about what to say or do.

In Mark 13:11 NIV Jesus told His disciples, Do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. It’s not your power; it’s God’s—and He wants you to allow Him to work through you. When you’re not afraid to be yourself, He can work through you any place in the world, even the middle of a grocery store!

Your Faith Must Be Released

Richard Roberts 04

Naaman didn’t put his faith in the water of the Jordan River. His faith was in the Word of the God who created the water. When Naaman dipped in the river, he released his faith in the God who had the unlimited power to heal him of leprosy. And he received his healing!

I believe it’s the faith you release that makes you whole…not the faith you hold back. In other words, your faith is like a seed you plant… Only the seed you sow will grow into a harvest. The seed that you hold back is not being released so it doesn’t grow.

I believe that’s why God gave us the principle of seedtime and harvest to begin with. It’s a picture of how our faith works. First, we hear His Word, which is where faith comes from…so the Word is planted. Then, as faith grows in our hearts, we do something to release it, and as a result, we tap into God’s unlimited supply.

Regardless of how difficult your situation may seem, I believe God can handle it, even if He needs to do something unusual for you, just as He did for Naaman.

I believe God has a good harvest for you… And you can make the decision to act on His Word in faith and believe for God to meet your needs. To me, it’s exciting to be able to participate in our harvest by planting seed.

I encourage you to give the Lord a seed of your faith to work with today. Determine what you desire the Lord to do for you, according to the Bible. And remember, He is not limited by your circumstances!

Find the scripture verses that speak to your heart about your situation. Make those scriptures a part of your prayers and your daily confession of faith in the Lord.

Ask the Lord to show you the steps you can take to cooperate with Him, and do what He says, in faith, expecting your miracle. And then as you are expecting a miracle, watch as He can do His part and release His unlimited power into your life to deliver you!

Spreading His Word!

Richard Roberts 04

Then soon after that, my mother was suffering with knee pain and Richard gave another word of knowledge about knees being healed. My mother and I received that word by faith, and from that day on, my mother has had no more pain in her knee. She is completely restored!

Spreading His Word!

Besides healing in our physical bodies, we have experienced amazing miracles in our family during this time. The Lord had instructed me to start a little Bible study in my own backyard and invite some family members whom I had been praying for and believing God for their salvation. It was such a joy to put together the lessons—mostly coming from Richard’s Holy Spirit class. Well, through that little Bible study, I had four beloved family members give their hearts to Jesus, praise God!

So much has been happening in my life. I’m receiving revelation from the classes. I’ve seen and experienced the word of knowledge in action. I’ve been studying all the class materials I’ve been given. And all of it has really been helping me. I thank God for Richard Roberts’ obedience in founding the School of the Spirit®, and I’m so grateful to be able to attend!

God giving us a word of wisdom by Richard Roberts

And we don’t recognize that that’s God giving us a word of wisdom.  These gifts don’t just necessarily flow through someone who has a microphone in their hand, standing before 20,000, 30,000 people in Africa, or before a class, or before a chapel service.

And many people make the mistake of thinking, “Well, the gifts of the Spirit, Richard, are just for people like you.”  Well, that could be nothing farther from the truth.  The operation of the gifts of the Spirit are to flow through believers.

All right, how many of you are believers?  Then you’re a candidate.  Okay.  And I dare say as we go through this, you’re going to find that these things have operated and possibly are operating now, and you’re going to have a better idea of what that is that you’ve been feeling.  Okay.

So in dealing with the word of wisdom, I want to give you some scripture that you can write down of examples.  Because you say, “Well, this all happened in just the New Testament.”  No, that’s not true either.  You’ll find the gifts of the Spirit throughout the whole Bible.  And here’s some examples.  In 1 Kings 17, verses 8-16, you’ll find an operation of the word of wisdom.

Now let me just pause right here and say that oftentimes God will manifest one or two or sometimes three of the gifts of the Spirit at the same time.  You know, God is sovereign.  He can do whatever He wants, and usually does.

All right, 1 Kings 17:8-16 is the story of Elijah and the widow of Zarephath.  Now I’m sure that many of you are aware of the story of how Elijah had prophesied to King Ahab and the nation of Israel because of their disobedience, it was not going to rain.  And there was a major drought in Israel.

And they got so mad at him, he had to run for his life.  And God sent him down to a little place, a little stream of water, called the Cherith brook.  And there he drank from the brook, and the ravens, the crows, came and fed him flesh or meat.

And the time came when the brook dried up because of the drought and the birds stopped bringing the food.  And God spoke to him and said, “Go to Zarephath where I have commanded a widow to sustain you.”

Everlasting life by Richard Roberts

Don’t get offended.  Don’t let some person come in and ruin your day.  Don’t say, “Well, that person, man, they came over and said something to me and it just ruined my whole day.”

Is your Christianity that flimsy and that weak that you could allow one human being to spoil your whole day?  Instead of letting that happen, just say, “God, bless them.  Forgive them because they don’t have any clue what they’re doing.”  That way you don’t carry that ought in your heart.  And you know what?  They’ll be impressed by it, because half of the time they know they’re wrong.  And then they’ll just kind of see what you’ll do.

Learn how to cross over that cultural barrier and recognize that people are different.  Some are tall, some are short, some weigh less than others.  Some smell different than others.  Some have different customs and different tastes.

But you know what?  We’re all card-carrying members of the human race.  And God loved every one of us enough to send His only begotten Son.  What’s the song we sang as little kids?  “Red and yellow, black and white, we are precious in His sight.”  Okay.  To Him, you see, in Christ there is no Jew, no Greek, no male, no female, no black, no white, no red, no green, no yellow, no purple.  And I add the purple because of some of the hair colors I see lately.

We’re just human beings, and God loves us and loved us enough that He did something by giving His only begotten Son so that we would not perish but have everlasting life.

Give them a break.  Okay, they do some things that you don’t understand.  Just smile and love them, care for them, and God will give you an opportunity to be a witness.

His disciples by Richard Roberts

“To the weak I become weak, so that I might win the weak:  I have become all things to all people, that I might by all means save (or bring salvation) to some.”

This was a theme throughout Paul’s ministry.  Paul learned how to adapt himself to cross cultural barriers.  And I want to give you some scriptural examples of people in the Bible who crossed cultural barriers, and I want you to write these scripture references down.  You can study them out on your own.

First of all, Matthew 15:21-28.  Matthew 15:21-28.  “Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.

“A Canaanite woman (or a Lebanese woman, from what’s known today as modern-day Lebanon, from that vicinity) came to him, crying out, Lord, son of David, have mercy on me; my daughter is suffering terribly from demon possession.

“Jesus did not answer her.  So his disciples came to him and urged him, Send her away, for she keeps crying after us.

“He answered, I was not sent but to the lost house of Israel.

“The woman came and knelt before him and said, Lord, help me.

“He replied, It’s not right to take the children’s bread (which is healing) and toss it to dogs.

“Yes, Lord, she replied, but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the masters’ table.

“Then Jesus answered and said, Woman, you have great faith: your request is granted.”  Another translation says “so be it done to you, even as you have believed.”  “And her daughter was healed from that very hour.”

This is an example of Jesus crossing a cultural barrier.  He was there in the area of Tyre and Sidon, when a woman who had a demon-possessed daughter came to Him for prayer, for healing.  And Jesus said, “I was not sent to you.”

Now that could have very easily have been interpreted as a racial slur.  Jesus said, “I was sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”  The woman could have, you know, contacted the ACLU.  She could have gone to the local newspaper.  She could have gone to the local radio station and said, “This preacher, you know, has slammed me because I am of another race.  I am a Lebanese woman from the coast of Canaan.

Be the Message by Richard Roberts

“Cause once you have my heart, you have all of me.  And when you have all of me, I will not stop praying until you’re delivered.

And I’ve spent time after time after time after time, spending night after night where I do not close my eyes, and I do not go to sleep because I’m calling certain people’s name out before God, and saying, “God, if they don’t get delivered, I may never sleep.  But I will not close my eyes until I see deliverance.”

And I could tell you that intercession hit me once like I have never had it hit me in the history of my life.  And I would begin to weep.  And I think I went through this about 3 months. And I mean to tell you, I would go through the drive-thru, and I’d be crying so hard, I’d have to pull the car off and tell my kids to go order.

We were on television, taping a live TV show, and I looked at my husband, and I said, “I can’t help this,? and I began to weep.  And I would cry, and I’d cry, and I’d cry, and I’d call this young man’s name out before God.  And I’d cry, and I finally said, “I can’t breathe.”  And I looked at my husband, and I said,  “I’ve got to go home.”  And he was in the middle of a live TV program.  And I’m looking at him, going, “You do it.  Just do it.”   And I get up.

And I would be crying so hard, I’d have to pull my car off on the side of the road.  And I finally said, “God, I beg You to lift this from me.  I can’t live like this.”  Three months of this, not sleeping, not eating, not doing anything but crying.  I mean, I would stand up in a kindergarten class and begin to weep. I’d come and I’d go to work, and I’d begin to weep.  And I’d sit at my desk, and I’d begin to weep.  And I could not stop it.

Glorify Thy Son by Richard Roberts

And I had a reality check that day.  It’s not about me; it’s not about my labeling, it’s not about you; it’s not about your labeling.  If you are Christian, it means you are in Christ Jesus.  It’s all about Him.  And all you have the right to do is say,  “Yes, Sir.”

John 17:1.  This is when Jesus was getting ready to go to glory.  But before He goes back to glory, He’s going to get crucified.  And if any of you’ve seen The Passion, you know what you’re about to read.  He said, “Father, the hour is come. Glorify Thy Son, that Thy Son may glorify Thee.”  Go to the 5th verse.  “And now, Father, glorify?” are you getting that glory word?  I want you to burn that into your spirit right now.  “And now, oh, Father, glorify Me with Thine own self, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.”

The glory that He had before the foundation of the earth, He said use that same glory.

Number 7.  “Now they have known that all things whatsoever you have given me are of You.  For I have given unto them the words which You gave to me, and they have received them.”

First He gave it, but someone had to receive it.

“And know surely that I came out of You, and they have believed it.”  First they heard it, then they received it, then they believed it.

“And I pray for them.  I don’t pray for the whole world.”  Can you imagine that?  But that’s what He said.  “But only for those which you have given me, for they are mine.”

Thirteenth verse:  “And now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they might have joy fulfilled within themselves.  I have given them Thy word, and the world hated them.”  Hello, we know that one.  “Because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.  I pray not that You take them out of the world, just keep them from evil.”

Praise God by Richard Roberts

HK:  That’s right.

LR:  And I saw that in your daddy.  I saw that in you.  I saw that in this ministry, that the partners make the ministry.

RR:  I see it in you.

LR:  I love our partners.  I had a lady stop me, I’ve been in a lot of places in the last week, but I had a lady stop me off the airplane, and she was coming in from Costa Rica and she could hardly speak English, and yet she was saying she was a partner.  I tell you what; it just made my heart just leap.

RR:  Praise God.

LR:  So we thank our partners for everything that you saw, it’s because of our partners.

RR:  Well, and Lindsay, and God spoke to me and said, “Have a special time on your program.  Lay out the vision before the people.”  He said, “Richard, if the partners don’t know what I’ve laid on your heart, how can they know how to respond?”  He said, “Tell them about what I’ve told you to do in 2011, and let them get as excited as I am, and as excited as you’re going to be.”  And Lindsay, people are responding.  Here, just got a call from Richard in Constantine, MI.  He’s making a one thousand dollar pledge.  And Melody in San Antonio, making a one hundred dollar pledge, and Dwight in Fairfield, CA, a hundred dollar pledge, and Donna in Porter, TX, a hundred dollar pledge, and Janice in Claremore, a twelve hundred dollars, a hundred dollars a month.

LR:  Praise the Lord.

Roberts Ministry – RR:  David and Ruth in Londonderry, NH, a hundred dollar pledge, a hundred dollars a month I should say.  Thank you sweetie; for twelve months, and I know Dave and Ruth very well.  Luciana in Aurora, CO, making a hundred dollar pledge.  Now, you can go to your phone right now and call that number, 918-495-7777.  You have about thirty-eight minutes, almost thirty-eight minutes left in the program, so don’t wait till the end, and you can also go online at oralroberts.com, and you can make your gift by credit card, by debit card, or you can say, “I’m gonna send a check or money order.”  Also Lindsay, people can give a gift of stock, a gift of real estate.  A man called from Virginia.  He says, “I have a piece of property in Tennessee.  I want to donate it to the ministry….

In the name of Jesus by Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts said that if you can tell a difference, begin to come forward now.  Every pain in the back, come out now, in Jesus’ name.  Every pain in every shoulder, come out now, in the name of Jesus.  Every pain in the neck, in Jesus’ name, come out.

Now bend your back.  Lift your shoulders.  Move your neck. Lindsay Roberts states that people are being healed all throughout Liberty Stadium right now.  People are being healed on my left, people are being healed on my right, people are being healed behind me.  If you can tell your back is healed, begin to come to the platform.  If you can tell your shoulder’s healed, begin to come to the platform.  If you can tell your neck is being healed, begin to come.  Begin to come.  Begin to come.

Put your hand on your chest.  Anyone with breathing problems?  Tonight is a night to get your lungs healed.  Last night there were many lung healings.  And what God did last night, He can do tonight. ORU

In the name of Jesus, Oral Roberts speak to your lungs.  Lungs, open up.  Lungs, breathe.  I take hold of your lungs and pull out the problem, in the name of Jesus.  Now begin to breathe deeply.  You who’ve just been breathing off the top, breathe all the way in.  Breathe all the way out.  Breathe all the way in.  Breathe all the way out.

Oral Roberts University states that someone’s being healed in your lungs.  If your breathing is better, come to the platform.  Come give a testimony.  Examine your breathing.  See what God is doing.
